I'm working as a dental assistant in Hanceville, Alabama for Pete Dube.  I have been there about a month or so now and I am learning so much about dentistry. There is a nice park across the street, so I go walking every morning when I can. Hopefully will lose some weight.  It's getting close to Christmas and Jeff is still out of work so it will be a lean Christmas this year.  Hopefully he will be getting some good job offers soon!  It's been kind of stressful but I'm glad I'm working at the moment to help out.  Lauren just had her wisdom teeth pulled yesterday morning and she is doing better today.  She went to the Christmas party last night at the church.

One of the pug puppies
you are viewing the kitchen/living room, a deck will be built outside the double doors and a fireplace will later be built by the window
Heather came in eleventh place in her cross-country race! She came in first place from her school! Great Job Heather!!!
Well we have five new pug puppies at our house, they are cute but they will have to be sold or given away when they are older.  We have kitchen cabinets put up and we are still sanding the walls and painting.  Only some of the ceiling will be slick finished because of the endless more hours of sanding.  We will spray popcorn in the bedrooms, I know usually people hate popcorn but my husband says it will look nice with a brighter white and we won't have to sand the bedrooms as well. Heather did GREAT at her last cross-country meet, she came in 11th place and got a  t-shirt for her efforts. She came in first place from her school.

Not much new going on at our house.  We are still hard at work on finishing the house.  I want to take lots of pictures when it's all done, it may be a while.  Jeff is here with me at the library.  The kids are at school today.  I will work on the house when I get home.  I'm always working on the house!

Lauren loves to drive now and wants to drive everywhere, she has her driving permit so I drive with her or Jeff. She loves to drive the honda accord with the sunroof down and has a lot of fun driving it.  I like the car too so I make sure shes careful with it. Trey enjoys school and Heather is doing really well in school an "A" student.  I help Jeff with the house as much as I can.  He is searching for a job and will be busy with the National Guard. I have a calling in church to help the cub scouts on Wed. so thats fun. I'm still working on finishing the drywall.

My daughter Heather joined cross-country recently and is doing really good.  She must take after Jeff and his running abilities.  My sister was also a very good cross-country runner.  The house is not completed yet and we are still hard at work on the drywall finishing phase, it sure does take a lot of work.  I want to post pictures when its all done.  I haven't been feeling my best lately, I have health problems that I deal with so that isn't any fun.  I feel sleepy right now and just want to go to bed and it's 9:42 in the morning. I have to deal with anxiety and panic attacks sometimes so I took medicine for it and the side effects are bad so I recently got off that medicine.  My oldest daughter Lauren is being homeschooled and she is here at the library with me. I hurt my knee working on the drywall and it's pretty sore right now. Sorry about all the complaining news --on the bright side the missionaries are comming over tonight for a family home evening so that should be fun.  I want to get a nice dessert for after the meeting.  Last night we watched some Bible stories on gmc channel.  We watched the story of Abraham and Joseph and they were pretty good.

Well I am becomming an expert at drywall finishing and I have taped out most of the house---that is a huge house so it takes a lot of time to finish.  Jeff is also trying to get it done!  We have cabinets in the house in boxes and they look great -I can hardly wait to see what it looks like in our finished kitchen. It's slowly comming together but I  think it's going to be a while before we get into the house.  I want to show pictures but I'm at the library so I will have to wait until we get internet at home or a laptop.

The drywall is about finished in the house.  I helped Jeff in the basement today and it got pretty hot, but it will be nice to have the drywall up in the basement! I also picked out the vanity top for the master bathroom and I think it's a pretty brown color.  The fun part is picking out all the stuff for the house and I get to use my interior design skills, I took a few classes in college in interior design and I get to design  the new house.  We have not picked out the flooring yet but that will be next.  We want to keep our cost down so we are also looking for great bargans.  I bought my appliances on sale last Christmas when they had some good sales on stainless steel appliances.

Lauren, my daughter is taking her drivers permit exam today and she is a little nervous about it.  Jeff likes to go driving with her on the country roads.  I'm a little nervous of course to have her drive but it needs to come one day.  She will be driving the honda accord that I bought from my dad.  They bought it new in Wichita, Kansas when they lived there and it has been a nice car, but it needs some work done on it now. Yesterday church was cancelled because the power was out in the city and county here in Alabama for a while. I'm glad it was overcast and rainy and cool while the power was out!

Well drywall is going up today, and the family that is doing it is really quick so it will be done quickly!  I'm hoping the drywall finishing will go quickly as well.  August is the deadline and I don't know if the house will be done or not.  It is really hot here and the summer makes it hard to work but they get an early start. My teaching license expired June 2011 so I will need to take three classes to be able to teach school.  I'm not sure what I will do right now.  I will stay with Olan Mills for now.  Steele Apple Orchard wants me to work this year and it was a lot of fun so I might be doing that as well.  I need to see if my kids will be able to go to public school or not.  I'm also the cub scout leader in the ward so that keeps me busy.

Well both of my girls are attending camp this week. They are enjoying the time with friends and being in the outdoors for a while! I am busy cleaning up the house and I brought Trey to the public library. I want to get more into my business over time with affiliated marketing on the side. I want to learn more about how it works and get more involved with it. I have my website at http://daniellemiddleton.mydealscenter.com/ that is a good place to check out. For the Fourth of July we watched the fireworks from a distance at Smith Lake.
Everybody should use this website http://daniellemiddleton.mydealscenter.com/

I am having such a great time in Utah! Sunday I went to Temple Square with my sister Debbie and her husband Frank, we also met Daren and Berit there. We listened to Music and Spoken Word in the tabernacle and the organ was beautiful. We toured the confrence center and then toured Brigham Young's home. The wedding of Brandon and his wife Amber was wonderful at the Oqurrah Temple, I met the Frye's there and thought it was a tender mercy from Heavenly Father to see them there. We had lots of parties here at Doneens house, Sunday we had a big dinner that Doneen cooked and it was wonderful, we celebrated her husband Alan's birthday. So much fun on my vacation and I leave early tomorrow morning for Alabama.

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

My parents had their 50th wedding anniversary party at my sisters house in Provo, Utah and it turned out really nice. A lot of family were there and my parents looked great. We had cheesecake and a cake that had strawberries and cream, it was delicious! It was so nice to be with family again and to see everyone! Alan was working hard on his backyard and it looks wonderful. I stayed with my brother Dion and his wife Summer and today I am with my younger sister Diane and her husband Ryan. It has been great weather here so I try to take long walks in the morning. A cool breeze and beautiful sunshine. Diane's house is also very pretty and I like to get ideas about our house that were finishing.

Well I just booked my flight for Utah! Should be a nice vacation for me as well. I will love seeing all my family again, especially my dad after his scare with a heart attack episode. I will stay for the week and return Tuesday afternoon, hopefully the weather will be good for traveling. It's rainy today, but we need the rain for our vegetable garden. The house looks cool with the insulation in the house. You can see where all the different rooms are. My kids sure do mess up the house and I clean a lot but the house stays messy! It will be a nice break to go on vacation. Hopefully the kids and Jeff will be o.k. without me there for a while. I also will be off work for a little while.

Saturday, June 11, 2011

Well it's Saturday and trying to get some house cleaning done. I brought the 1996 honda accord that my parents bought new when they lived in Wichita Kansas and it has been doing pretty well lately with great air conditioning, so it's been fun to drive. It acted up a lot in Saratoga Springs, Ut but so far it's doing great. My daughter Lauren will be turning 16 the 1st of July so she will be getting her drivers license soon and has been practicing on our land with the honda. She loves the car and wants to own it. For now I said we can share it. I will probably be flying to Utah soon to go to my parents 50th wedding anniversary and my sisters oldest son is getting married that same week. Should be a lot of fun seeing everyone again! Jeff is working on the house and will be starting insulation soon. The kids are out of school and we go to the lake a lot and swimming. They also like to come to the library sometimes and stay inside the air conditioned house. I go to work this afternoon part-time for Olan Mills portrait studio.

Thursday, June 2, 2011

Well it's been a while since I posted anything. We have had so many adventures since we moved back to Cullman, Alabama. The kids are finally out of school for the summer and we have been visiting the lake close to our house a lot. The kids love to cool off there because it gets so hot and humid here. I like to stay in the air conditioning when it gets too hot. Jeff is working on our house and is doing a lot of it himself so it's taking longer. I'm not sure when we will be living there. I'm ready though, because our house has so much stuff in it and it stays cluttered. I'm ready to be organized and have space again. The tornado weather hasn't been to much fun, but I'm glad we still have a house to come home to. It sure does make you think of what is important. I'm working part-time at Olan Mills so I get to talk to a lot of people and thats been good. I met a 101 year old lady today. I have been struggling with panic attacks and anxiety so that has been a bummer and not too fun to deal with at times. I want to start putting pictures up again but we might have to wait until we have internet back at home. I use the library for now, so I wont get to write as much.

Alabama Tornado devastation and destruction April 27, 2011---A day to remember in Alabama, a kind of 9/11 for the whole state.  It was about a mile away from us where a tornado touched down around 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon.  I was in the tornado safety spot in our newly constructed home in Alabama in the basement when it hit.  I was with my three children and my mother-in -law Nancy.  Jeff was out driving and saw it cross into the city of Cullman.  I was suppose to be working but asked to leave early so I could be home with the kids.  I'm glad I did because it hit so close to K-mart in Cullman where I work for Olan Mills right now.  The storms hit early that morning around 6:00 a.m. and I woke up way ahead of the storm and woke up my kids to get them to come to the new house with a basement instead of our mobile home.  Jeff didn't want to wake up so he stayed in the mobile home.  The tornado warning sirens went off and I was afraid for Jeff but he didn't answer my telephone.  I just stayed in the shelter.  When the morning passed I heard of a lot of damage in some areas of Cullman.  The afternoon tornadoes really did a lot of damage and you can see some of the tornado on You-tube videos.  I'm glad I was in a shelter and our house was not in it's path.  The path was so close to our house though, just down the street houses and trees all over the place.  It sure was an eye-opener when I saw the damage up close.  It is something I'll never forget.  Weather is very powerful!

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Well it has been a while since I posted on my blog. We don't have internet in our home right now so I won't have time to post alot of pictures and stuff, hopefully later on we will get it back in our home. It is getting close to March so the weather is warming up here in Alabama. I have two birthdays this week, Heather's is Feb. 22nd and Trey's is Feb 28th so lots of fun and cake this week. I'm starting to rotatile my garden and get it ready for planting it's kind of fun but I got sunburned yesterday so I put on sun lotion today. I want to grow lots of vegetables this year. The house is comming along and will hopefully be done before summer in the spring sometime. They are getting started on the wiring of the house. They put the pole that goes outside the house yesterday. I have been working part-time at Olan Mills portrait studios selling for them so it has been kind of fun. They have been in business now 75 years.
